10/31/06   Mara has signed an agreement with MTV to license ALL of her recordings for future use on their TV shows and website. We’ll keep you posted if they end up using anything on The Real World, My Super Sweet 16, or any of their other fine programming.

11/7/2005 Mara has been selected by the 2005 ASCAP Popular Awards Panel to receive an ASCAPLU$ Award for a fourth consecutive year. This award recognizes Mara as an active and promising young songwriter based on frequent live performances and independently produced records. Congratulations!

In addition, Sam Ash Music Stores has offered Mara and her band a spot as one of the first West Coast artists to be "Powered By" the national music retail giant. Mara and the Big Rock Stars will receive thousands of dollars worth of free equipment for a year, as well as the opportunity to have their likeness and music featured on SamAshMusic.com in the coming months.

6/30/2005  Mara has been selected to compete in the annual Shot At The Cabo Wabo band competition to be held at Molly Malone's (575 S. Fairfax, Los Angeles) on Sunday, July 17th at 8pm. The winner of this national competition will open for Sammy Hagar's annual birthday bash (which happens to coincide with Mara's birthday) at the Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

5/20/2005  We're back up! Sometime yesterday, marasong.com was hijacked by Mexican hackers. Yes, really. No damage was done, just a prank. Probably well deserved after my April Fool's joke gone awry. Good times.

5/24/2004 Summit Media, LLC, unveils its latest fast-paced, high-quality video project titled It’s Offishal, set to hit the marketplace this spring. HDTV.ETC gives it an A+ and calls it "…the freshest fly-fishing outdoor action DVD I’ve ever laid eyes on." 12/15/03  For the third year in a row, Music Connection Magazine has named Mara as one of the "Hot 100 Unsigned Artists" of the year. Mara is proud to share this honor with friends including Jeddrah,  The Piper Downs,  Kelda,  Denise Vasquez,  Jennifer Vazquez,  Ali Handal, Marina V, and Tee-M among others.

9/9/03  Mara has been named one of the top songwriters in the 11th Annual Billboard Song Contest. "Don't Let Me Run" from Mara's debut album, It's Who I Am, has received honorable mention in the contest based on compositional strength, lyrical interpretation, commercial value and public appeal.
